Designed by Paul T. Frankl and manufactured by the Warren Telechron Company in Massachusetts in 1927. The Warren Telechron Company commissioned Frankl to produce a modern clock that embraced his skyscraper design. Frankl constructed this clock by combining chrome, Bakelite, and steel. The Warren Telechron company later christened the clock "Modernique" in 1928. Despite the modern sleek lines this clock would prove to be a hard sell for Telechron. Assembly time was nearly double that of most telechrons model's and for this fact it was discontinued only after a few years. Needless to say this particular model clock is extremely rare and highly sought after. |
